History

Daplast was founded in 1973 by Rafael Pérez Esparza under the name of Distribuidora Andaluza de Plásticos, the name from which our brand name originated.

Our activity was focused on the design and manufacture of plastic crates for the fruit and vegetable industry, in line with the growing demand resulting from the replacement of wooden crates by plastic ones.

For several decades, our customers have included the main fruit and vegetable cooperatives in Andalusia.

In 1978, Rafael Pérez Esparza detected the growing demand for seats for stadiums and sports facilities, as an element of safety and comfort. It was an unknown sector for the company but an attractive one for diversifying markets and products. In that year, the current Daplast factory was purchased and new seat designs and moulds were developed.

With the investment in a metal workshop and the hiring of technical staff to design metallic bleachers, we began to install the first Daplast bleachers in Spain. Due to the innovation in both lines, we had a great reception in the market.

In 1986 we installed more than 50,000 grandstand seats at the Circuito de Velocidad de Jerez, internationally known for hosting F1 competitions during the 1980s.

This project made us well known in Spain. In addition to the sports venues we had already equipped in the early 80’s, we installed seats in most of the Spanish first and second division football stadiums.

We designed more models of seats, obtaining a wide range of models, from seats with and without backrests to folding seats. In the 80’s and 90’s we obtained a wide experience equipping with seats and bleachers a long list of sports venues all over Spain.

The 2000-2010 decade was very important for us. Real Madrid CF and FC Barcelona also decided to choose us to equip their stadiums, and later on, the Circuit de Catalunya did the same.

We continued to expand our experience in large projects, and we were already leaders in Spain in seating and bleachers for sports facilities.

Internationally, in 2002 we equipped the sports venues of the Central American Games and several stadiums in the United Arab Emirates.

In the last decade we have multiplied our presence both nationally and internationally. We are proud to have equipped stadiums and arenas in more than 120 countries with our seats.

Among many others, the Olympic Stadium in Amsterdam, the 5 July Stadium in Algeria, the Parc des Princes in Paris and the Comet Arena in Algeria. In Spain, Celta de Vigo, Mallorca, Villarreal and Osasuna, among others, have placed their trust in us.
